Gift Shop Associate

PRINCIPLE FUNCTION

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is seeking part time Gift Shop Associates to work during Garden Lights 2017. The Garden is seeking outgoing, positive and enthusiastic individuals that enjoy creating positive experiences for all visitors. This is a part-time position and will require evening, weekend and holiday work. Weekly schedule may vary based on Garden hours, events, and staffing needs.

Responsibilities:
Greeting visitors and welcoming them to the garden
Processing all Point of Sale transactions and functions
Opening, closing and balancing cash drawer
Promoting and actively selling gift shop products
Participate in the cleanliness of the shop
Stocking and restocking shelves

Requirements:
Strong customer service skills; experience working in a customer focused capacity
Flexibility of schedule to work shifts including weekends, evenings and holidays
Experience with POS systems and daily balancing of receipts
Multi-tasking and organizational abilities
Flexibility and capability to adapt to changes in daily routine and visitor needs
Basic math, computer and cash handling skills required
Previous experience in gift shop sales or retail sales is preferred
MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
