Libraries
Together, the Sheffield Botanical Library and Orchid Reference Library collections include more than 11,400 books and 162 periodicals. The Library of Congress Classification Schedule is used in both libraries. The online catalog provides information by author, title and subject. The collections are non-circulating. For reference assistance, the librarian is available in person at the Garden, via telephone or email.
Sheffield Botanical Library
Located in Gardenhouse, the Sheffield Botanical Library collection serves Garden staff and the visiting public, and offers a nook of puppets and kids’ books for young Garden guests.
Orchid Reference Library
Located in the Southeastern Center for Conservation, the Orchid Reference Library features an extensive collection of research materials pertaining to orchids and other plant collections available to outside researchers.
