Drawing is the foundation of the visual arts, and anyone can learn its basic principles. In this class, students learn basic composition, proportion, shading and perspective. Through a progression of exercises and assignments students are introduced to the visual elements: line, value, texture, shape and space.

Students work in a variety of black and white mediums (pencil, black pen, black marker and charcoal) with particular emphasis on natural and botanical subject matter. Basic drawing can be a fulfilling experience for the curious beginner and it is essential for the aspiring artist. A supply list is emailed with the confirmation.
