More Gardens to Come

Splash Fountain is currently closed for the cool weather months.

After an extensive renovation, the Children’s Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden is now open with exciting new features and familiar favorites!

Renamed the Lou Glenn Children’s Garden, the site honors longtime Garden supporter Lou Glenn, who was instrumental in developing the original Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Children’s Garden when it opened at the botanical garden in 1999 – one of the first of its kind in the country.

Active Outdoor Play

Explore the new tree-house area with climbing nets and a slide as well as some fun bridges to play on.

Hands-On Play

Craft a masterpiece at the water “painting” wall. Build to your heart’s content in the balsa wood construction area. Dance to the beat of your own drum with our outdoor instruments. The Garden is also rolling out new nature play activities and classes. A new position, a full-time Educational Horticulturist, will also engage children in small gardening activities.

New Family Restroom

Designed by Smith Dalia Architects, this much-needed facility includes a family restroom and large courtyard.

Familiar Favorites

Catch a performance in the refreshed amphitheater, meet a few Venus flytraps and pitcher plants in the expanded carnivorous plant bog, and stay tuned as we put the final touches on one of the Garden’s most cherished spaces!
