Creative Macro Photography

Weekend Master Class

Spend an entire 2 -day weekend with Charles Needle, a California based award-winning professional fine art nature photographer, learning special techniques for creating unique, artistic close-up images in a fun, casual but intensive atmosphere. Charles will share many of his own secrets learned after more than 10 years of shooting macro and cover equipment, composition, exposure, fill-flash, special creative camera techniques and more. Learn how to photograph water droplets, reflections of flowers on iridescent glass, mylar reflections, cross-polarization technique and much more.

Class will combine lecture, group assignments, demonstrations and 1-on-1 personalized instruction. Students should have a digital SLR or point-and-shoot camera with macro capability and a good understanding of exposure and depth-of-field. Learn macro techniques while shooting in a private indoor classroom and in the Garden with private, early-morning access one hour each day before it opens to the general public. This class is limited to 12 participants.
