Ashlynn Smith

Research areas: Restoration ecology, watershed management, conservation

Ashlynn is the Field Biologist at the Deer Lake State Park wetland habitat restoration project in the Florida panhandle, funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Federation through the Gulf Environmental Benefit Fund. Her responsibilities include vegetation monitoring, rare plant surveys, project tracking and reporting, and prescribed fire application. Smith is also a Ph.D. student with the University of Florida where she researches how restoration techniques in wet prairies influence vegetation, streamflow and groundwater nutrients.
