Rashaad interned with the Garden to cultivate, propagate, and maintain many species, including the rare Torreya taxifolia and Sarracenia pitcher plants. He transitioned into our full-time horticultural staff to install and maintain the conservation wetland garden, part of the Skyline Garden. Now as conservation horticulturist, Rashaad is responsible for propagating, and maintaining many of the rare and threatened species held in the greenhouse and nursery beds, and provide backup at the Conservation & Safeguarding Nursery. Rashaad also assists in fieldwork re-introducing species back into their natural habitats.
