Indulge in a delicious weekend of chocolate samples and fun family activities. Visit the tree where chocolate begins and learn some fun information about the chocolate-making process.   Stop by the Outdoor Kitchen where Atlanta pastry chefs conduct cooking demonstrations and share culinary tips for chocolaty treats.  Free with garden admission or membership.

Chocolate Covered-Weekend: Saturday & Sunday, September 21 – 22, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Drop-in Family Program: Creative Chocolate Creatures

On September 21 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. visitors can use their imaginations to create amazing chocolate treats that will delight your sweet tooth and enchant your tummy during the Creative Chocolate Creatures program. This activity is an additional $6 per child ($5 for members) in order to cover the cost of materials.

Cooking Demos and Presentations Schedule:

During Chocolate Covered-Weekend, Garden Chef Demos in the Outdoor Kitchen and Mershon Hall will feature a special schedule of Atlanta-area chocolatiers serving up a variety of delicious chocolate-based desserts, light bites and special presentations about chocolate.

Saturday, September 21:

10:30 a.m: Garden Chef Amanda will be preparing Roasted Pear Salad with Chocolate Vinaigrette and Crostini in the Outdoor Kitchen
11:45 a.m: Pastry Chef Crystal Leach will be creating Double Chocolate Pudding in the Outdoor Kitchen
1:00 p.m: Eric Wolitzky of 5th Group Resturants will be creating Chocolate Caramel Cream Pie in the Outdoor Kitchen
2:15 p.m: Elaine Reed of Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate will host “A Taste of All Things Dark Chocolate” in Mershon Hall

Sunday, September 22:

10:30 a.m: Isaiah Jackson of Dragon’s Bread Pudding will be creating Chocolate Bread Pudding in the Outdoor Kitchen
11:30 a.m: Pharez Roberson of Heavenly Cakes by Pharez will be creating Mini Triple Chocolate Cupcakes and Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies in the Outdoor Kitchen
12:30 p.m: Mike Callaway of Honeysuckle Gelato will be serving Chocolate Gelato in the Outdoor Kitchen
1:30 p.m: Pete Dale of Condor Chocolates will be presenting “An Ecuador & Georgia Story” in Mershon Hall
