Contributing-level members and above are invited to a special behind-the-scenes presentation from Emily Coffey, Vice President of Conservation and Research at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Botanical gardens are no longer just beautiful places to visit—they are on the front lines of saving our planet’s plant life. Around the world, they protect rare and endangered species, helping to preserve the incredible diversity of plants that support healthy ecosystems and resilient communities.
These gardens are also research powerhouses, offering scientists and conservationists vital tools to understand how plants grow, adapt, and survive—especially as climate change accelerates. And they inspire action. Through education and outreach, gardens connect people to nature, raising awareness and building a community of support for conservation
At the Southeastern Center for Conservation, based at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, we are proud to lead this charge across the Southeastern U.S. and globally. From safeguarding critically imperiled species to advancing cutting-edge research and restoration strategies, our work is changing the fate of rare plants—and with it, the future of biodiversity. Come learn about the exciting work our teams are doing to prevent the loss of plants and critical biodiversity while enjoying light refreshments.
