Digital Content Coordinator

POSITION TITLE: Digital Content Coordinator (Full-Time)

LOCATION: Atlanta, GA.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Design & Communication Manager, the Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for online marketing and communications for the Atlanta Botanical Garden. With strategic and creative direction from the Marketing team, this in-house journalist brings the Garden experience to life in the digital world.

The Digital Content Coordinator creates video, photo and written content for the Garden’s digital platforms, manages the Garden’s website, and coordinates social media and email marketing efforts. The successful candidate will be a highly creative and motivated individual with a solid understanding of the digital landscape and digital campaign tools, experience developing and executing successful digital campaigns, and the ability to build and nurture contacts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceive, photograph, film and edit photos/video for digital distribution. Photograph events, plants, landscapes and more. Film and edit interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, time-lapse videos and promotional spots. 
  • Create, curate, monitor and maintain content for the Garden’s website and all Garden social media platforms. Work with the marketing team to develop and execute digital campaign elements that complement marketing and content strategy. Write dynamic social media schedule and content with the inclusion of cross-departmental needs and an emphasis on education, marketing and telling the Garden’s story through beautiful photography and rich media. Actively engage the Garden’s social media following through comments and messages. Monitor and respond when necessary to online reviews of the Garden via Yelp, Trip Advisor, Facebook and similar sites. Ensure Garden website is up-to-date with accurate event listings, editorial content and rich media.
  • Coordinate email marketing campaigns. Collaborate with Marketing team on creation and execution of email campaigns that advance the Garden’s email marketing strategy through A/B testing, tracking and database segmentation. Manage and update contacts database.
  • Track and analyze content reach on website, social media and email for optimization purposes. Provide insight and recommendations for tracking, analysis and optimization across all media to Marketing team and Garden leadership.
  • Assist the Marketing team with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.   • Demonstrated success in managing websites, mobile applications and digital media;
  • Direct experience in website design, development, and content management in Wordpress, HTML, and CSS;
  • Ability to write, edit and proofread effective and engaging digital and social media content;
  • Strong planning, organization and administrative skills, with an ability to manage both urgent deadlines and long-range projects simultaneously;
  • Experience scheduling, executing and tracking results of email marketing campaigns (Emma experience preferred);
  • Photography, videography and media design experience with emphasis on Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere, plus PDF creation/editing;
  • Direct experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including Facebook Insights, Hootsuite (or other social media scheduling platforms), WuFoo forms, and Google Analytics (certification preferred).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year degree in Digital Marketing/Advertising, Mass Communications or related field;
  • 1-2 years professional experience in web communications, social media management and digital content creation;
  • Robust portfolio of student or professional work. Collections including social media campaigns, copywriting, photography, web design/writing, social media design and video production/editing are preferred.
