Interpreting botanical images shown through technology’s visual filters, Jered Sprecher’s paintings are unlike any other. In collaboration with Whitespace Gallery, located in Inman Park, Atlanta, Monument of Dirt & Air, features 10 oil paintings by Jered Sprecher that depict plants viewed through the lens of technology. These paintings explore how nature appears when it’s warped by the white light of a glowing tablet screen, the streaky alien colors that come from a printer’s failing ink cartridge, or the surprising shapes created by a computer glitch. They are a truly striking example of abstract botanical art. Monument of Dirt & Air is on view in the Gardenhouse Gallery March 9 – June 3.
Schedule: March 9 – June 3
