The Garden’s research laboratory applies molecular genetic techniques to shed light on subjects from orchid diversity to population studies of rare and endangered species.

Animal pollinators are crucial to the survival and health of 80% of plant species. The Garden works with local partners to study, conserve and protect these vital populations.

The Garden hosts its own seed bank and CryoBank to aid in research and restoration efforts of native imperiled plants from the southeastern United States, Caribbean, Ecuador and its living collections.
