This bright pink shrub can reach 3 feet high and can spread up to 4 feet long. Best in full sun and medium soil moisture, the cultivar 'Gamad I' is both drought-tolerant and resistant to fugal leaf spots and powdery mildew. The genus (Lagerstroemia), was named after the Swedish botanist, Magnus von Lagerstroem. The specific epithet (indica), is in reference to its native territory of the Indies.
