Actinidia deliciosa is a vigorous deciduous vine that can grow up to 30 feet wide. In the late summer, the large rounded leaves are accompanied by creamy white flowers. This vine is female and can bear fruit if pollinated, which is why you'll find Actinidia deliciosa 'Vincent' and ‘Tomuri’ planted nearby. The kiwi vine is also called Chinese Gooseberry, but successful marketing efforts by New Zealand farmers in 1962 solidified its worldwide nickname as Kiwi fruit.
