If you catch the Swamp Magnolia in bloom, you'll smell the sweet lemon scent of its creamy, waxy flowers. Its seeds mature in fall to a red color that can attract seasonal interest. The Swamp Magnolia tolerates some shade and is more likely to be evergreen in the Atlanta area.
