Garden Updates
The Garden is open Tuesday – Sunday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The Garden is open nightly 5 – 11 p.m. for Garden Lights, Holiday Nights with the last entry at 10 p.m.
The Garden is closed during the day on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but opens for Garden Lights, Holiday Nights 5 – 11 p.m. with the last entry at 10 p.m.
Buyers Beware
Please be advised that the Atlanta Botanical Garden does not collaborate with third-party websites for admission ticket sales. Atlantabg.org is the only official site for admission tickets of any kind.
Tickets obtained through unauthorized third-party sellers – online ticket marketplaces, ticket resellers and peer-to-peer sellers/scalpers – cannot be verified, exchanged or refunded by the Atlanta Botanical Garden. If you believe you have been a victim of fraudulent activity, we recommend contacting your bank or credit card provider immediately to report the issue and seek resolution.

Is the Garden open on Monday?
No, the Garden is closed on Mondays excluding the following dates:
- April 1, 2024 – APS Spring Break
- May 27, 2024 – Memorial Day
- September 2, 2024 – Labor Day
- October 14, 2024 – Indigenous Peoples’ Day
Does the Garden require timed tickets?
No, the Garden does not require timed tickets. The tickets purchased online are date-specific and can be used anytime that day for entry into the Garden.
What guidelines should I know about before visiting?

PROHIBITED ITEMS
To preserve the natural environment of the Garden, the following are prohibited:
- Outside food or beverages
- Smoking, cigars, chewable tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping, and any illegal substances
- Firearms and weapons of any kind, including items that look like weapons
- Balloons and confetti
- Sports equipment, including footballs, baseballs, soccer balls and Frisbees
- Bicycles, rollerblades, scooters, skateboards, hover boards, Segways, remote controlled vehicles and drones
- Portable music players without headphones and musical instruments
- Rice, birdseed and flower petals (for Garden wedding guidelines, contact the Events department)
- Professional photography/videography equipment without prior authorization. Learn more.
GUEST SAFETY AND GARDEN CARE
For your safety and the care of the Garden’s collections:
- Stay on designated pathways at all times. Do not block pathways or access for other visitors.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- Climbing on walls, exhibits and other structures (other than Children’s Garden play structures designated for that purpose) is prohibited.
- Use caution on stairs and wet surfaces, which can become slippery during watering.
- Do not collect or remove seeds, flowers, fruits and vegetables, plant labels, etc., or touch or handle plants or special exhibits (other than in designated areas of the Children’s Garden).
- Do not wade or swim in ponds or fountains.
- Do not feed or handle any wildlife.
- Pets are not allowed inside the Garden. Service animals are permitted. Please do not allow service animals to defecate or urinate in the Garden.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables in trash receptacles. All trash is sorted for recycling off-site.
- Keep your personal items with you at all times. The Garden cannot be held responsible for missing items.
- Please turn in any recovered items to a Security officer at the Hardin Visitor Center information window or to a staff person at an Admission booth.
DRESS
The Garden is a family-friendly environment. Dress for an outdoor, walking experience:
- Attire that is considered inappropriate or could detract for the experience of other guests is prohibited (including excessively revealing clothing, clothing with profanity, objectionable language or graphics).
- Shoes and shirts are required at all times (comfortable shoes for walking are recommended).
- Children may only wear bathing suits in the Children’s Garden splash pad.
- Adults may not wear bathing suits inside the Garden at any time.
BEHAVIOR
Please respect the Garden’s staff and your fellow guests:
- The Garden will not tolerate inappropriate behavior, including, but not limited to, yelling, violence, intimidation, threats, harassment, aggression, swearing, damage, abuse, or sexual harassment. Individuals who are aggressive toward staff or other guests will be escorted off the property.
Guests grant permission to the Atlanta Botanical Garden to utilize their image, likeness and/or sound recordings for the purpose whatsoever in perpetuity.
All manner of drone photography and video of the Garden is strictly forbidden.
Can I be refunded if there is bad weather on the day of my scheduled visit?
All General Admission tickets are non-refundable. Refunds or rain checks on admission ticket purchases are not granted for weather-related reasons.
In the event of inclement weather, FLEX tickets can be transferred to another day. If you did not purchase a FLEX ticket, you can call the Ticket Office to upgrade, there may be a price difference.
The Garden is open rain or shine. Most display gardens are outside, so dress appropriately for weather. There are indoor air conditioned and heated areas for guests including the Hardin Visitor Center, Longleaf restaurant and the Fuqua Conservatory and Orchid Center.
In the event of inclement weather that forces closure for safety reasons, the Garden will post on all its social media channels.
Can I walk up and purchase tickets?
Yes, however admission is not guaranteed to those who walk up and purchase tickets. To ensure entry, purchase your tickets online in advance. The Garden does not charge online processing fees or taxes for admission tickets.
Can my tickets be scanned from my phone, or do I have to print them?
Your tickets will be provided in your confirmation email and will have a QR code for each ticket. We can either scan them from your phone or from a printout.
How do I redeem guest passes?
How long can I stay in the Garden?
You may stay in the Garden as long as you’d like. The average visit lasts 1.5-2 hours. We kindly ask that you keep this in mind so the Garden can safely meet admission demand.
Can I bring food, drinks or snacks into the Garden?
Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the Garden. They may be purchased at Longleaf restaurant, the Quick Café, the Snack Bar or bars located throughout the Garden.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed inside the Garden. Only animals considered Service Animals by the Americans with Disabilities Act are permitted. Please see the Atlanta Botanical Garden Service Animal Policy for more detail.
Can I take photos in the Garden?
At the Atlanta Botanical Garden, we welcome our guests to capture the beauty of the Garden for personal enjoyment. To ensure an enjoyable experience for all, we have guidelines to distinguish between casual photography and more formal or professional photo sessions.
Personal Photography (No Reservation Required)
Who: Guests and members using standard personal cameras (e.g., smartphones, digital cameras) for casual, non-commercial photography taken by unpaid, amateur photographers during their visit.
Permitted: Photos taken for personal use and enjoyment, such as nature shots or photos with friends/family, as long as they are not for commercial purposes or taken by a hired professional photographer.
Not permitted: Tripods, lighting equipment, props, drones, products or additional setup beyond basic handheld devices without prior permission.
Fee: Garden admission is required to enter, but no separate reservation or fee is required for personal photography.
Personal Photo Shoots (Reservation & Fee Required)
Who: Individuals or groups engaging in staged photography sessions that involve any of the following:

- Hired photographers
- Additional equipment such as off-body lighting, tripods or props
- Staged photoshoots (e.g., engagement photos, family portraits, wedding/bridal photos)
Permitted: Personal photo shoots for non-commercial purposes are allowed but require advance booking through our Special Events department.
Fees: Personal photo shoots are subject to a fee of $500 for up to 10 people for a two-hour session. Additional charges apply for larger groups or extended time.
Commercial or Promotional Photography (Reservation & Fee Required)
Who: Professional photographers or organizations conducting shoots for commercial purposes (e.g., magazine features, advertising, TV, films, or product shoots).
Permitted: These sessions must be scheduled in advance with the Marketing Department and are subject to location fees based on the type of shoot.
General Guidelines for All Photography
Tripods and Equipment: Tripods and other large equipment may be used throughout the Garden, except in the Fuqua Conservatory (due to narrow pathways). Tripods in the Conservatory are allowed for promotional shoots with prior permission.
No Walk-Up Sessions: All photo shoots, whether personal or commercial, must be scheduled in advance. Walk-up sessions are not permitted.
Unauthorized Photography: No photography sessions (personal or commercial) are allowed on Garden property, including the parking areas and entrance driveway, without prior authorization.
An Amplification of Music: Amplified music is not permitting during any photo shoots in the Garden.

Is the Garden wheelchair-friendly? Are any available for rent?
Nearly all areas of the Garden are accessible to guests using wheelchairs and scooters. Wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters are available for rent at Garden Admissions on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.
Wheelchairs: Complimentary during your visit. Quantities are limited.
Scooters: $30 plus tax for a 4-hour rental period (Garden members save $5). All scooter rentals must be paid by credit card, and a photo I.D. is required. You must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and sign a rental agreement to rent a scooter. Scooters may not be rented in inclement weather. Quantities are limited.

How does AHS reciprocal membership admission work?
The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a member of the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admission Program. Present your current membership card when you arrive at Garden Admissions for complimentary daytime entry during regular Garden hours.
Please note: The 90-mile exclusion rule stipulates that gardens within 90 miles of each other will not offer reciprocal benefits.
Do you offer a military discount?
Yes, the Garden offers a $5 discount on both daytime admission and Garden Lights, Holiday Nights tickets for veterans and active-duty service members. Guests can purchase tickets with the discount on-site at the Garden or by calling the ticket office at 404-876-5859.
Does the Garden have lockers or coat/bag check?
No, the Garden does not have lockers or coat/bag check services available. All guests must keep personal items with them at all times. Please plan accordingly.
Does the Garden offer gift cards or gift certificates?
No, the Garden does not offer gift cards or gift certificates at this time. If you are interested in purchasing a gift for someone, you may want to explore our gift membership options.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is located adjacent to Piedmont Park in Midtown.
Atlanta is served by the MARTA transit system. Bus #27 stops at the Piedmont Avenue entrance. Bus #27 may be boarded at the Arts Center or Lenox train stations.
Parking
at the Garden
On-site parking is available in the SAGE Parking Facility for Garden guests on Levels 4, 5 and 6 via Piedmont Avenue entrance. Park visitors use Levels 1, 2 and 3 via Monroe Drive entrance. The SAGE Parking Facility is card-only. No cash is accepted.
