Mildred Pinnell Fockele
Fockele is the Garden’s lead horticulturist, overseeing all outdoor plant collections, landscape development and gardening staff. In addition, she serves as director of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Gainesville. Her duties also include maintaining close contacts with local nurseries, plant enthusiasts, Cooperative Extension agents, landscape companies and other members of the “Green Industry.” Fockele received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Agnes Scott College and a Masters in Horticulture from the University of Georgia.
