Research areas: Global Change Biology, Paleoecology, Conservation Genetics, Micropropagation and Seed Banking
Amanda Carmichael serves as the Conservation Laboratories Supervisor in the Conservation and Research Department. She is responsible for overseeing daily operations as well as conducting relevant lab work for various projects within the Conservation Genetics, Micropropagation, and Seed Bank Labs. Amanda’s background in conservation, ecology, and environmental DNA sequencing is driven by an interest in understanding how species and their habitats respond to environmental and anthropogenic changes. At the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Amanda hopes to utilize her skills and knowledge to inform plant conservation and assist in training future conservation biologists.
