Getty Hammer

Getty is a Field Biologist with our Florida-based conservation & research team, working in-and-around the Florida Panhandle. She comes from a background in field botany and ecology, earning her Master’s degree in 2023. Her thesis focused on how physical disturbances impact plant species diversity. Originally from Northern Virginia, Getty has lived across the Gulf Coast for the past 10 years. She likes to hike, create art, and see live music in her free time. Her favorite thing about working with the Conservation & Research team is contributing to research that helps protect native plants and getting to explore the many beautiful natural habitats of Florida.
