Laurie Blackmore is the Director of Applied Conservation within the Southeastern Center for Conservation at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Ms. Blackmore directs the Center’s applied conservation programs and project and staff management. Blackmore facilitates collaboration between the Center’s staff and Federal, State, and private partners to ensure that project objectives and deliverables are completed on time and within budget to achieve conservation goals. She received an M.S. in Forestry from the University of Idaho, focusing on Non-Timber Forest Products, and a B.S. in Forestry from the University of Washington. Ms. Blackmore is a lifelong development and conservation professional with experience in scientific and interpretive writing in the private, public, and non-profit sectors both in the United States and abroad and has worked across the United States and Africa in habitat conservation and sustainable alternative income strategies.
