Richard Bennett
As the Senior Conservation Horticulturist at the Conservation Safeguarding Nursery, Richard will be maintaining the health of imperiled Southeastern native plant collections and supporting conservation- and restoration-focused projects.
Richard has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in Horticulture with honors from the University of Georgia. His horticultural experience ranges from fieldwork and research to propagation and landscape stewardship.
Richard is originally from Bermuda and grew up in the Georgia Piedmont. Outside of work, he enjoys climbing, hiking and reading.
Richard loves applying scientific information to enact meaningful change for imperiled native species. Conservation horticulture is one of his passions, and he believes it plays a crucial part in the network of conservation professions.
