Amazing metro-Atlanta teachers are invited to join us for a complimentary summer evening planned just for them!
Stroll through the Dorothy Chapman Fuqua Conservatory and Fuqua Orchid Center to see our world-class interpretations of tropical, desert, and high-elevation environments and marvel at the colorful diversity of plants found throughout our 30-acre urban oasis. Don’t miss the return of Alice’s Wonderland featuring seven installations of 22 topiary-like mosaiculture pieces, such as the Red Queen and the White Rabbit! Plus, Enchanted Trees by Poetic Kinetics marks the return of the artists behind the Garden’s 2021 exhibition of a signature rainbow-hued “Skynet” billowing above the Canopy Walk.
Watch the Atlanta Shakespeare Company’s Theatre for the Very Young Performance of Tempest, Junior!, a 45-minute version of Shakespeare’s The Tempest performed by four charming and energetic professional actors and puppets at 6:30 p.m.! Audience engagement abounds in this delightful, abbreviated rendition of one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies. Theatre for the Very Young productions are appropriate for Ages 4-7 and are available to book for live performances at local schools, camp programs and other venues in Spring/ Summer 2024. Listen to soprano Alexandra Watson, baritone Michael Ntwa, and a pianist from the Atlanta Opera perform a selection of opera classics along with fun musical theater surprises at 4:30 p.m. The Atlanta Opera serves over 70,000 students in the Metro Atlanta Area and throughout the state of Georgia every year and they seek to inspire creativity, stimulate critical conversations, promote an enduring appreciation of the arts, and create audiences for the future.
Visit Storza Woods and experience the beauty of live music surrounded by nature as talented faculty members from Franklin Pond Chamber Music perform timeless string quartets by Mozart, Beethoven, and other classical greats at 6 p.m. Perfect for all ages, this interactive performance invites curiosity—musicians will chat with the audience and are happy to answer questions throughout the evening. Franklin Pond Chamber Music provides year-round instruction and mentorship for young musicians ages 10–18.
Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. Educators (with ID*) plus one guest receive free admission.
Additional Adult Tickets are $28.95; Additional Child Tickets (Ages 3 – 12) are $25.95. Walk-ups welcome.
