Enjoy a relaxing evening dining, sipping and learning from Chef Julio Delgado of Minnie Olivia and Fogón and Lions in the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen.

Award-winning Chef Julio Delgado embraces a Euro-Latin American cooking style featuring colorful yet sophisticated flavors influenced by his family heritage. Growing up in Ponce, Puerto Rice, Julio’s family celebrated life through food and shared dinner table conversations; his grandfather’s butcher shop inspired the menu of his second concept, Fogón and Lions.

Julio began his career as sous chef at The Ritz-Carlton in San Juan before deciding it was time for a new opportunity for him and his family in 2000. They moved from Puerto Rico to New York where he played a key role in the opening of the Ritz-Carlton, New York Battery Park. Following this property launch, Julio and his family followed various Ritz opportunities from Reynolds Plantation to Orlando to finally Atlanta. After a 15-year tenure, he left the Ritz to helm the kitchen at JP Atlanta before going on to serve as executive chef at New Realm Brewery.

Julio Delgado, Minnie Olivia and Fogón and Lions

In search of planting roots, Julio took an interest in the thriving culinary community of Alpharetta, GA and fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening his own restaurant. In 2019, Chef Julio opened the doors to Minnie Olivia Pizzeria in downtown Alpharetta where wood-fired pizzas, pastas and small Italian plates grace the menu. Expanding upon the success of his first concept, he decided to open a second venture right next door called Fogón and Lions in May 2022. Fogón and Lions is a Spanish-Latin restaurant known for its lively ambiance, delicious tapas and full-service bar.

His culinary resume includes impressive awards and accolades such as winning Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen cooking show, Georgia Grown Executive Chef for 2019, “Best Restaurant 2008,” and “Top 5 New Restaurants” and “Most Unique Dining Experience in Atlanta” in 2016.
