Garden
of Eden Ball

One of Atlanta’s most anticipated social events, the Garden of Eden Ball will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.

About the Ball and Host Committee

Honoring Jennifer and Marty Flanagan for their support of the Garden, the annual Garden of Eden Ball is a not-to-be-missed gala. The evening, which begins with cocktails at sunset, features floral décor fit for a botanical garden, a grand seated dinner, and dancing overlooking the Atlanta skyline in a tented ballroom on the Great Lawn. As the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s premier fundraising event, the Garden of Eden Ball attracts community, business and social leaders in support of the Garden’s mission.

Participation in the Garden of Eden Ball Host Committee is by invitation only. The Ball Chair(s) and Garden staff extend invitations to selected individuals and couples to join the Host Committee, an exclusive group lending their name more prominently in support of the Ball. Host Committee members are encouraged to attend and are asked to support the Ball with a gift of $3,000 (which is a giving level only open to Host Committee members), but may also support with a gift at a higher level for increased benefits should they so choose. Once an invitation to join is extended and accepted, the Garden staff will follow up with a letter for confirmation.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden gratefully accepts gifts from Donor Advised Funds (DAF). If you would like to apply a DAF grant toward support of the Garden of Eden Ball, you are required by law to waive benefits associated with that donation. Benefits that will be waived include, but are not limited to, seats at the Garden of Eden Ball, Garden guest passes, and invitations to special events & previews. Gifts made through these giving vehicles will therefore be recorded as declining benefits. Bifurcation* of gifts is not permitted, per IRS guidelines. Gifts made through family foundations and charitable IRA distributions are acknowledged detailing goods and services received if benefits are not declined. Please consult with your tax advisor if you have any questions.

*In the context of donations and DAFs, “bifurcation” refers to a “split gift” or donation where a portion of the gift is treated as tax-deductible and another portion is not. An example of gift bifurcation would be considering the portion of a contribution that covers the cost of the event (food, entertainment, etc.) as a benefit to the donor, while considering the portion that goes directly to the charity as tax-deductible. Because DAFs are prohibited from facilitating bifurcated donations, a donor cannot use a DAF to pay for the tax-deductible portion of a gift while using personal funds for the non-tax-deductible portion, such as the value of an event ticket.
