Special Events FAQ

Is admission included in the rental cost?

  • Yes. For events booked during the Garden’s regular operating hours, Garden admission is included in the facility rental rate for the contracted guest count during your event.

How much is due when I sign my contract?

  • When signing the contract, 100% of the Security Damage Deposit is due, plus 50% of the total Estimated Event Amount. For events booked less than 60 days in advance, the entire estimated event amount will be due with the signed contract.

What kind of payment options do you have available?

  • The Garden accepts Credit Cards and Checks.

Can we use or bring in our own caterer?

  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden maintains an exclusive list of Atlanta caterers. If you plan to offer food at your event, it may only be provided by one of our venue-approved caterers. The Garden does not allow any outside food or beverages to be brought in. The cake vendor is the only exception for private events.*

Can I book just a wedding ceremony only in the Garden?

  • Absolutely! All of our rental spaces are available a la carte. Depending on availability, you may book a ceremony only, a reception only or both.

Where do my guests park?

  • Parking is available on site in the SAGE Parking Facility, which is shared with Piedmont Park. If you are hosting a private event and would like to pay for and secure on-site parking for your guests and vendors, the Special Events team will assist you with ordering validations.

Can I extend my setup and/or teardown time for my event?

  • Yes. Based on availability, you may add additional time for setup/teardown at a rate of $400 per hour.

Are tables and chairs included with my rental?

  • Yes. The Garden has a variety of tables and chairs for your event, depending on availability.

Is a Wedding planner required?

  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden requires a licensed wedding planner for all wedding ceremonies and receptions with a guest count over 25. We are happy to share our list of recommended wedding planners familiar with our spaces. It is essential that your wedding planner is familiar with the Garden and our guidelines to ensure your special day goes smoothly.

Does the Atlanta Botanical Garden provide event staffing?

  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden provides a sales coordinator, Garden event logistics coordinator, day-of event lead and check-in staff for your private event. The event lead will act as the Garden’s on-site contact during your event. The Garden can also provide necessary bartending staff for contracted private event bars at a separate hourly rate.  The required catering staff will be provided through one of our venue-approved contracted caterers. For clarification, the Garden does NOT provide a wedding coordinator. For weddings with more than 25 guests, the client is required to hire a licensed wedding planner.

What if it rains?

  • The Garden offers several inclement weather options. During the initial site visit, your sales coordinator will show you what indoor spaces are available based on availability and guest count. The rain plan location will also be included in the contract.

Are there any restrictions on decorations?

  • All decorations brought into the Garden must be free-standing. We do not allow items to be staked into the ground or attached to any Garden structure or plant material. Due to the sensitivity of the Garden, throwing or placing rice, confetti, birdseed, flower petals (natural or artificial) and the use of sparklers or balloons are strictly prohibited.

How far in advance can I book my event?

  • Due to high demand at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, clients are encouraged to book events as early as possible. We require a minimum of two weeks advance notice when booking a private event.

Are there any other rules I should be aware of?

  • The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a non-smoking, nicotine-free facility. This includes cigars, chewable tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping and any illegal substances. Due to the Garden’s liquor license, all alcoholic beverages must be provided by the Garden. Outside beverages are strictly prohibited. Violating these policies will result in the loss of clients’ security damage deposit.
