On the heels of the artist's 2016 exhibition, the Garden acquired six acrylic Chihuly Drawings which are presented along the back wall of Longleaf. They include two Float Drawings, three Reed Drawings and one Ikebana Chandelier Drawing ranging from 1992 to 2014.
While beautiful on their own, these drawings are often used to inspire and instruct Chihuly's creative team. Using paint, ink and a variety other media, Chihuly stands above the large canvases slinging streaks of color until his vision is realized. If anyone can capture the colorful energy and vibrance of Chihuly's three-dimensional works, it's the artist himself.
