School Programs

Bring your students to the Garden to experience first hand one of the most diverse plant collections in the country. Each school tour focuses on specific areas of interest and is paired with curriculum guidelines.

With leadership support from The Zeist Foundation and Wells Fargo Foundation, Title I schools are eligible for free programming at their school or at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Homeschool Day

March 21 and May 16, 2025: The Garden hosts an exciting day of tours and activities exclusively for homeschool groups and families. Supplement your life science, botanical and environmental studies curriculum by observing the diverse plants growing in the Fuqua Conservatory such as tropical conifers, breathtaking orchids, bizarre succulents and more.

High School Internship Program

For seven weeks in June and July, the Atlanta Botanical Garden hosts ten high school students from metro-Atlanta Title I schools during its paid summer high school internship program. Interns work alongside Garden staff to cultivate, conserve, and teach others about our plant collection while gaining invaluable college and career readiness skills from community leaders.

Calhoun Lecture

Every other year, the Garden offers a special opportunity for teachers to supplement their life science curriculum with presentations by leading horticulturists, explorers and researchers. The lectures are free and open to students in grades 6 – 12. After the lecture, participating classes are invited to take a self-guided tour of the Garden.
