Celebrate creativity and craftsmanship at our Birdhouse Competition, part of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Gainesville’s annual JuneFest on June 6!
Participants are invited to design and build a birdhouse inspired by the beauty of Wild & Wonderful Folk Art — think fantastical landscapes and the stories of the woodlands passed down by generations past.
Entrants must register by May 9. All entries must be dropped off at the Garden by May 22.
- All entries receive one (1) free ticket to JuneFest or one (1) Garden Guest Pass
- All finalists receive entry into JuneFest and three (3) additional JuneFest tickets
Entries will be judged on:
- Functionality for humans and birds
- Craftsmanship
- Durability and reusability
- Aesthetics and theme interpretation
Voting
- May 25 – 29, social media voting takes place on the Gainesville Garden’s Facebook and Instagram to determine the finalists.
- Finalists will be displayed during JuneFest for in-person voting for all guests.
Prizes!
- Prize for all finalists: Free JuneFest entry or Garden Guest Passes for four (4). Display birdhouse in Garden on June 6.
- Prize for winner: One-year Garden membership, prime spot birdhouse display through Gainesville Glows + prize basket
