To celebrate the release of his acclaimed book, The View from Federal Twist, join James Golden for the story behind his eponymous garden. Golden explores the garden’s cultural, historical, and literary influences, its horticultural experiments, and how it triggered awakenings in the author along the way. Part experimental horticulturist and part philosopher, Golden describes how he listened to the site, made a conscious decision not to improve the land, planted large, competitive plants into rough grass, then watched and waited as sustainable plant communities evolved. A book signing will follow the talk.
This event is presented by the Garden Conservancy and will take place in Day Hall.
