About the Piece
“The Atlanta Botanical Garden, Gainesville, features a charming, man-made waterfall cascading down a slope beside a pathway of creeping phlox. During the 2026 Art in the Woodlands, I spent a blissful day painting this feature, relying on sensory observation to create my piece. The bright spring day offered a multisensory experience: fragrant lilacs filled the air, purple highlights adorned the woodsy plantings, and the cheerful croaking of frogs paired with a gentle morning mist made for an idyllic, tranquil painting session.”
