“Go Wild” with Tommy Johns

August 16, 10:30

Tommy and his puppet friends will be taking your kids on a wild and imaginary tour of their backyards, neighborhoods, and community parks. Through puppetry, magic, and storytelling, Tommy and his furry and feathered (puppet) friends will teach young readers about how to use the Scientific Process to answer questions about their own environment.

“A Seed’s Story” with Mama Koku

August 17, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Join Mama Koku as she tells a tale of life underground, putting down roots, and really sprouting and blossoming in the end. It’s “A Seed’s Story”, but she needs human children to tell it, so join her on stage!

“A Musical Tour through Latin America” with Havana Son

August 23, 10:30 a.m.

Rene and Lillian lead a whirlwind tour through Latin America. Their musical itinerary includes stops in Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Children will have the opportunity to sample each country’s unique rhythms and sounds.

“Musical Fun” with Mr. Travis

August 24, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Mr. Travis takes you on a musical adventure, including fun and silly songs, dancing and jamming with percussive instruments, and visits from his puppet friends! Mr. Travis has taught music to hundreds of preschool-aged children in and around Atlanta, and he tours professionally with his band.

“Summer Magic” with Ken Scott

August 30, 10:30 a.m.

Come and be a part of Ken Scott’s Comedy Magic show for all ages (even adults will enjoy the show). Ken is a three-time winner of the Atlanta Magician of the year award. He includes tons of audience participation, music, and eye-popping magic tricks that will make your head spin in wonder.

Get ready to use your curious mind while exploring Betty Ann’s Imagination Box. You never know what you might you find and the stories those objects have to share.

“Books Alive!” with Mama Koku

September 7, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

School has begun! Have you been reading? Mama Koku brings to life The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Tiny Seed, two beloved Eric Carle picture books, with help from the audience.

“Mr. Greg’s Musical Madness” with Greg Roth

September 20, 10:30 a.m.

Greg Roth, of Mr. Greg’s Musical Madness, delights audiences throughout the country with his joyous, interactive, and educational family-friendly performances. Featured on PBS, themes of his shows and live performances include: Treating People with Kindness; Environmental Awareness; Physical Fitness; and much more! Bring your sense of humor and your “jumping shoes”!

“Music InterACTION” with Michael Levine

September 21 and 22*, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Children and families will sing, dance, shake, laugh, wiggle & learn together as Mr. Michael gets silly with his guitar. On stage he shares his music & storytelling inspiration with children as they sing interactive songs & Pete the Cat stories together.

Join us for shows Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. this weekend as we celebrate the cacao tree with family-friendly Chocolate Covered Weekend festival throughout the Garden. Look for Mr. Michael in the Children’s Garden Amphitheater.

“Queen Emeralda’s Magical Garden Stories” with Kay Rosenblum

September 27, 10:30 a.m.

Listen to enchanting stories full of appreciation for plants and animals. What are Monkey Jack, Funny Bunny, and the Teddy Bears up to? These fanciful folktales and magic tricks appeal to youngsters in an imaginative performance that will have you laughing and singing along.

“A Grand Expedition” with Reay Kaplan

September 28, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Join famous explorer and bug scientist, Begonia Bumble Blossom, as she searches for the Bucking Bronco Bumble Bee of Africa.  If she finds it, this will be the greatest discovery of her career! Professional puppeteer, Reay Kaplan, brings this clever tale to life through storytelling, puppets and audience participation in a performance for the whole family.
