Justin Peterman, M.S.

Justin is a Conservation Horticulturist working hard to maintain and improve our Conservation Safeguarding Nursery in Gainesville, GA. His work before the Atlanta Botanical Garden includes many roles in plant restoration and conservation, as well as ecology and plant-pollinator interactions. A native of Atlanta, Justin has lived in almost every region of the state of Georgia, as well as in Argentina and Mexico. Outside of work, he is an avid reader, potter, and loves nothing more than a good long walk. 

In his work with the Garden, Justin loves that it allows him to practice horticulture in a meaningful way. He states, “With the current need of landscape restoration and conservation, I see Conservation Horticulture as the most unique, fulfilling, and interesting way to engage in our present epoch.”
