Each Saturday and Sunday at noon, 1 and 2 p.m. during Spring, Summer and Fall. In the Edible Garden Outdoor Kitchen, the Garden Chef showcases fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs in simple and mouthwatering recipes. Be inspired to try something new the next time you cook.

Terri Carter, also known as Farmer Terri, has been on the Atlanta food scene since 2011 when she began studying the local food system in Metro Atlanta. She started her career as the coordinator of Historic Mableton Community Garden, then became a food demonstrator at the Mableton Farmers Market. She furthered her career through an urban agricultural program offered by local nonprofit HABESHA Works Inc., where she still advises students eager to learn growing and preserving techniques. She became a Master Gardener in 2014 and started working with the University of Georgia’s Cobb County Extension in the Family and Consumer Science Department, where she teaches programs on seed saving, cooking, preserving, food history, container gardening, tea and spice blend and how to start a backyard or community garden.

Chef Terri’s life mission is to reach at-risk kids and teach them how to enjoy and cook well and become good stewards of the planet. She currently serves on the board of the American Community Gardening Association where she is also the Educational Committee Chairwoman and the monthly newsletter editor. As an Edible Garden Chef, you can catch her cooking up delicious recipes and sharing the origins and rise of foods we call Southern, soul and comfort foods.
