About Chef Christopher Grossman

Chef Christopher Grossman is a southern transplant, born and raised in Michigan who first called Atlanta home in 2007.

Throughout his career Chef Christopher‘s philosophy has been to pay homage to the best ingredients available, grown by people who put the same heart, soul, and values into raising them as he does in preparing them. To accomplish this; even though the technique and execution behind each dish can be time consuming and complex, he prefers his work to fade away into an understated simplicity, allowing his diners to appreciate the elegance and flavor of the ingredients that ignite his passion. “Great food does not start in the kitchen; it starts with the soil and the seeds that are sown” This way of thinking reflects partially upon his upbringing where seasonal gardens and trading produce with neighbors was the norm. When you’re surrounded by freshwater lakes and nature, sustainability goes hand in hand.

Prior to his current role at THE CHASTAIN Christopher opened and helmed the kitchen as Executive Chef at Atlas in the St. Regis and worked under world-renowned Chef Thomas Keller at The French Laundry in Napa Valley. He also served for many years as Chef de Cuisine under Chef Gerry Klaskala at Aria in Atlanta. His humble integrity and mentoring has created a team of young chefs that have followed him from kitchen to kitchen and propelled others to leadership positions throughout Atlanta.
