Unsolicited Seed Packets from the Garden
The Atlanta Botanical Garden has received reports of individuals receiving unsolicited seed packets with the Garden's return address listed on the package. The Garden does not distribute seed packets. The U.S. Department of Agriculture believes the mailings are part of a scheme reported in various parts of the country. The agency advises recipients not to open the packets or plant the seeds but to surrender the packets to their local agriculture department office. Alternatively, recipients should seal the packets inside a Ziploc bag, fold the bag, wrap with duct tape and discard in the trash.
